- 1. Sign in — Create an account or sign in with Clerk using the available Google or email options. Signing in gives you access to Roomivo, but does not create or list a roommate profile by itself.
- 2. Create your profile — Open Register and complete your profile. Choose List My Profile to appear in the directory, or Viewer Pass to browse without listing your profile. After you register, use View Profile in the header to return to this form and update the fields that are editable.
- 3. Browse the directory — Open Find Roommates to see listed profiles from your selected college and the same gender group. These privacy filters are applied automatically. Use the room-sharing and AC filters to narrow your results.
- 4. Request a connection — Open a listed student's profile and send a connection request. Find Connections in the site header (or mobile menu) to review incoming requests, track sent requests, and see decisions.
- Connection requests and WhatsApp — There is no WhatsApp on/off toggle. A student sends a request from your listed profile. Review their profile in Connections, then accept or decline. Acceptance unlocks WhatsApp for both of you. Until then, phone details are not shown through Roomivo. Declines appear in the requester's inbox.
- Profile reporting — Use Report Profile for inappropriate WhatsApp messages, harassment, fake profiles, spam, or another safety concern. Include what happened and, for WhatsApp issues, the number shown in the chat if available. Roomivo saves the report for administrator review and gives you a report reference. - Roomivo ID — Roomivo adds a unique reference to the WhatsApp introduction. If you need to report a concern later, this reference can help support identify the account.
- What you can edit — From View Profile, you can update your year of study, department, room-sharing preferences, lifestyle tags, bio, and directory visibility. Connection approval controls WhatsApp access; there is no profile toggle.
- Locked identity details — Your name, gender, college, WhatsApp phone number, and sign-in email cannot be edited in the profile form after registration. To request a correction, email support.roomivo@gmail.com. Administrator review may take 48–72 hours.
- Profile deletion — Delete Profile removes your roommate profile from the directory. It does not delete your Clerk sign-in account, so you can sign in and create a profile again later.
- Use good judgment — Roomivo helps students discover potential roommates. Review profiles carefully, confirm details directly, and use your own judgment before sharing personal information or making housing arrangements.
- Free to use — Roomivo is free to use, with no registration charges or paid tiers.
